The Happy Paws Partnership Terms and Conditions

COVID-19 Specific Terms & Conditions (Grooming Services)

During the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) The Happy Paws Partnership will continue to operate its Grooming Services with strict adherence to the most up to date guidance provided by the Government. This guidance will cover appropriate safety measures, the use of PPE and social distancing guide lines.

The following temporary conditions will apply until we are instructed that it is safe for both our staff and customers to operate without these measures in place.

Drop off/Pick up:
In order to maintain a safe distance during drop off and pick up we have provided an anchor point at the front of our salon, the anchor point will have a clean/sanitised slip lead attached to it. Please bring your dog to the anchor point and use the slip lead to secure him/her, please then remove his/her collar, lead and or harness and take this away with you. Once you are at a safe 'social distance' we will immediately collect your dog from the anchor point and take him/her into the salon and continue the appointment.  We will contact you once your dog is ready for collection, on your arrival we ask that you maintain a safe distance from the salon while we return your dog to the anchor point, we will then retreat while you safely collect your dog.

During his/her appointment:
While the current understanding is that our pets cannot contract or pass on COVID-19 there is speculation about its existence on their coat following contact., fortunately the virus can be removed with simple washing so once we have collected your dog from the anchor point they will immediately be washed and dried in order to minimise the risk of contact for our staff.

Our promise to you:
As always, our salon operates on a one to one basis, so your dog will be the only dog in our salon during their appointment. Appointments will be offered at times which allow us to pragmatically clean and sanitise the salon and equipment prior to and after your dog's stay.  We will also provide plenty of notice to our clients should our staff or family members develop any symptoms of COVID-19 or should we believe that we have been in contact with the virus therefore carrying a risk of contamination to you and your family.

Your promise to us:
Our salon is an internal (home based) salon, we welcome your dogs into our home and our family where we have young children and vulnerable relatives. We ask that you contact us to cancel your appointment if you or anyone in your family develops symptoms of COVID-19 or if you believe that you have been in contact with the virus and therefore carry the risk of passing the virus to us or our family members.  We will then offer you a new appointment once the risk of contamination has passed.

Priority bookings
Due to the nature of their coats, appointment priority will be given to wool or double coated breeds during this period. However, if your dog has an existing 'routine' booking in place it will not be cancelled in order to prioritise another appointment.

Payment:
During this outbreak we ask that you make payment directly to our business account via online banking, the payment should be made on the same day as your appointment.  If you are unable to pay via online banking then please do let us know, we will arrange for payment to be taken over the phone by card. We are unable to accept cash payments at this time.

We may be able to remove some areas of matting without it being clipped or shaved out, for this we charge £10.00 per 15 minutes. For your pets comfort a maximum of 30 minutes will be spent de-matting.

During your consultation we will check your pet for matting prior to the groom and will discuss the best course of action however, the severity of some matting may become more obvious once the dog has been washed and dried – in this case we will endeavour to contact you during the appointment to discuss this.

Tooth Cleaning Terms & Conditions

The method of ultrasonic teeth cleaning is highly effective in removing tartar, improving gums, breath odour and overall oral health, THE HAPPY PAWS PARTNERSHIP cannot guarantee the results, effectiveness or suitability for individual pets due to varying external factors. If dogs become distressed or we discover anything likely to cause discomfort to your pet, we will discontinue immediately. The best approach to solve this will then be discussed with you.

Each pet will have its own tooth brush head that will not be used on another dog. The initial tooth brush head will be supplied as part of your initial consultation and it will need be replaced after approx. 25 treatments or sooner if required. Some pets may chew the brush head, if this is excessive it may need replacing sooner to maintain effectiveness. Brush heads will require replacing after 1 year regardless of number of times they have been used.  Replacement toothbrush heads are currently priced at £10.00 each.

If we feel any teeth are loose or at risk of becoming loose when the tartar comes away, we may refer you to your veterinarian for a tooth assessment before any further treatment is carried out. It is possible that the tartar build up will be too great, in which case we will refer you to your vet where dental work may be necessary. Maintenance visits can then be booked through us.

THE HAPPY PAWS PARTNERSHIP cannot be held responsible for any problems occurring from poor dentition before, during or after any teeth cleaning treatments.

THE HAPPY PAWS PARTNERSHIP ultrasonic teeth brushing using the Emmi-Pet is not a veterinary procedure and THE HAPPY PAWS PARTNERSHIP cannot diagnose any veterinarian problems with your dog’s mouth. Please have any concerns checked by your veterinarian.

THE HAPPY PAWS PARTNERSHIP will offer two types of treatment plans:
'Per treatment' costs will be payable at each appointment.
'Pre-paid treatments' are payable in full prior to the first treatment.

If you choose to use our 'pre-paid' service for your dog's initial tooth cleaning and the treatment is satisfactorily complete prior to the end of the 'pre-paid' course then you may opt to be refunded the balance of the treatment(s) remaining or to use the balance as full or part payment for future maintenance visits.

You will understand that the effectiveness of the ultrasonic teeth brushing using the Emmi-Pet is based on frequency and that optimum oral health might only be achieved by keeping to the frequency recommended by THE HAPPY PAWS PARTNERSHIP.
